Max Ingrand est un maître-verrier et décorateur français, officier de la Légion d'honneur. Il naquit à Bressuire le 20 décembre 1908 et mourut à Paris le 25 août 1969. Élève à l'École des Beaux-Arts de Paris puis à celle des Arts décoratifs, il eut pour maîtres les grands artistes Jacques Grüber et Charles Lemaresquier. Il fut directeur artistique de FONTANAARTE.
Gruber's student, is one the most relevant personalities of the French stained glass windows in the second half of the twentieth century. Along with the being inspired by the Middle Ages, Max Ingrand’s technique and his design skills allowed him to produce important artworks all over the French territory.
From 1948 to 1952 he produced 43 stain glass windows for the Nôtre Dame du Pré at Le Mans cathedral. In 1954 he designed some of the glass windows of the Chenonceau Castle. Max Ingrand is also famous for his stain glass decorations made for the Normandie transatlantic liner. In 1954 he became FontanaArte‘s Art Director and has designed a number of lamps such as the table lamp Fontana, which is still being produced today.
